Envelope filter under $100

What's up guys!? I've been researching envelope filter pedals for a few weeks or so, and am having trouble deciding. Basically I have a $100 budget, and want some thing REALLY funky. Obviously this won't get top of the line, but I've run across a few in this rangr that seem like a lot of fun. I have a Digitech synth wah and it's just not doing it for me (I've heard it's sub-par so no surprise). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Digitech BSW it really works for this range of prices.

I´d suggest you the MXR BEF, EHX Micro Q-Tron, and (probably for the bugdet) the EBS Bassiq.

I'll second the DOD FX25B, good control and blends well with other effects too. You should be able to pick one up somewhere for pretty cheap

I'm not sure how accurate this is, but I've heard the Digitech BSW is a remake of the iconic FX25...that was one of my first thoughts but I'd hate spending $ on some thing that sounds a lot like some thing I already have

Not sure exactly how the BSW and FX25 are related but I haven't seen a lot of straight comparisons between the two. There's also the new DOD 440 reissue. Those are $100 new. You can probably score one for less.

Like I said...not sure how accurate that statement is but Digitech bought out DOD and I've heard the synth wah was meant to imitate DOD's filter...kind of like the Grunge

Digitech was originally a division of DOD that made digital rather than analog effects. I'm pretty sure Harman was making the FX25 and the Synth Wahs at the same time. But @DigiTechRep would probably provide a better response.

You can find a older Boss bass synth 3 for around $100. Its pretty easy to get a really good envelope filter out of it. Much better sound than anything Digitech or Q-Tron has to offer. You will maintain ALL of your low end with the Boss.

yes, the color is similar. but even there, they failed at matching it exactly...

Hi Filterfunk, why not the Micro Q Tron? I thought the circuitry between the two was the same? I only have the Micro, it's ok, a bit peaky and the internal trim pot needs adjusting to your liking, is the Mini Q Tron any different?
