Epi Thunderbird Classic-IV Pro - Nut Replacement (Tusq)

Hi all,

I'm looking for a tusq nut for my Thunderbird Classic-IV Pro. I can't find an exact match of the measurements online... anyone know the best one to go with? Can't be that uncommon a thing, surely? The nut on mine is pretty grim.

The measurements I've taken are:
Length: 1.5 in / 38.1mm
Width: 0.19in / 5mm
Height: 0.37in / 9.5mm
E-G: 1.14 in / 29mm

The closest I've found thats slotted is:

Width obviously worries me here... basically, it's not right.

TIA!

Pup

Pretty much any nut you buy aftermarket will still have to be fitted. Even if it fits in the neck slot perfectly, chances are it'll be cut very high and you'll need to file the string slots down.
Yep agreed - problem here was most things were too small rather than me looking for a perfect fit. I could do some minor filing and trimming it down myself, but cutting new slots and reshaping I'll leave to someone with more experience and better tools.

Thanks!

Ah, I see. If there is a decent luthier or tech in your area, they should be able to handle it. Stew Mac sells a nut file set. It's really easy to do. But, the whole set will run you about $160.
