Get the 410!!! I love my 310UL, but if I could upgrade to a 410UL for < $100 I'd do it in a heartbeat!
I know everyone hears things differently but I actually hear more low end in the 310UL at low to medium volume.MacGroove said:

In Bacon's situation though, I think I'd go for the 410 (as long as he has something to haul it in).

That's kind of the way I hear the 310UL/410UL difference also... with the 310UL a little wider sounding... almost a little scooped, and the 410UL being punchier (and almost exponentially louder when you really crank it). However, I actually think the 410UL still has more bottom in absolute terms, but it has a lot more output in the upper mid area... so the RELATIVE amount of low end seems less. It's the upper mids of that 410UL that seem to really propel it through the mix.
Again, both cabs are great in their own way.

That said, I always had something for 3x10 cabs so that's where my vote goes.

Yes indeed! I'll probably go with a couple Wizzys, but this would be a dream for outdoor festivals.

i personally really dig the ul310. sooo small and light, yet ridiculously loud. the ul410 is even louder, but again, if you need that volume, the good lord help you.
Ok, so I finally bit the bullet and ordered the UL410 
. I'm still in a little bit of shock since I don't routinely blow that kind of cash, but I can't imagine I'll be disappointed.
Sooooo . . . . one last question - are there any important instructions for breaking it in?

Congrats Baconator. You won't be sorry (I had the same feelings after I'd ordered mine, but they went away when the cab arrived and I played through it. I bought mine new too).
I had the same question regarding the break-in and I was told by two different shops to "just play through the cab at lower volume for about an hour". I suppose you could hook up a CD player and run music through it for awhile too, but I just hooked up my head and noodled for awhile. Anything to get the speakers moving.

if anything, play thru the rig for the first time just to hear what it sounds like presently/prebreakin. then, for as long as you can stand it, or until your next rehearsal, gig, whathaveyou, a week preferably, run some of your fav bass heavy or dance music at a moderate volume thru the tough guy. easy to do, hard to wait for, but upon playing thru the cab again, you should notice a diff.
but to be honest, just use the darn thing! after a while, you'll notice that you wont need to boost the bass as much as you did before as the surrounds slowly mold to frame. just be sure not to use the cab while going into that speed metal audition, and you'll be fine.
