Epihone Korina Explorer Bass Dimensions/Blueprint

Hey everyone, I am planning on building an 8-string bass guitar for my Highschool senior year project, and I am planning on making it an explorer-body bass, because I think explorers just look too cool. Anyways, I was wondering if anybody had the measurements/dimensions/blueprint for the Epiphone Korina model Explorer bass, because this is the exact explorer shape I am looking to replicate. It would also be a great help if somebody here has a Korina Explorer IRL and could take measurements of it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a fun project. But you really need to do your own layout of the bass, full size and in pencil. You can get a few rough dimensions to start with by scaling from some images. Then you need to understand and draw out all the important dimensions. Do some real engineering. Build what you've designed. That will be a useful and educational project. And you'll end up with a cool bass.

Well, I took your advice and drew up my own design, cut it out, made the neck pocket, rounded and sanded it. Glued a plate from the mahogany body leftovers on the maple paddle headstock, cut it out, drilled some holes, made my initials, cut out the part covering the truss rod.

I’d say it’s coming along all right so far…
