Epiphone ‘64 Thunderbird

Can someone please describe for me the difference between the '64 and the previous '60's version Epi T-Bird? Other than color options I'm not seeing what the differences are. I'm getting interested in updating to one of the newer ones but I'd really like it in white which the '64 isn't offered in (and not sure on the 60's but thought white was an option).

New one has CTS pots, Graphtech nut, comes with a gigbag, off the top of my head.

Epiphone discontinued the white finish Vintage Pro, I think when it got renamed to "60s"

The '64 is made in China and is different in some details from the previous iterations that were made in Indonesia.
Most notable is that the neck has more pitch to it and the result is that the bridge is raised up a bit more, you also get a spacer underneath the neck pickup. The original issue of the Vintage Pro had very large Wilkinson tuners, these were subsequently downsized as time went on and Epiphone rebrand it as the '60s Thunderbird. The new version still has big tuners but they have a much smaller back plate and no doubt weigh less than the Wilkinson's. I have both and find them pretty much equal in terms of how they play, however I did exchange the Vintage Pro's pickups for the current Gibson re-issue, I like them far better than the Epi 760's, much improved bass/lo-mid/mid with the Gibson.

Note the slight pitch.

I believe this is correct. Minor improvements, gig bag, color change. All very welcome, but the name change was purely marketing. IMO, a stupid name, but hey. I'm just a potential customer, what do I know? And it's not like they are the first to use a name that confuses new and old instruments when searching to buy.

OK, see now I want one! Man, those sparkle finishes are something else. I’m glad those don’t have the crummy 3 point bridge!
I get along ok with the 3 point, but you can always drop in the Supertone (my preference) or Babicz. Of course, that adds to the cost but sometimes they’re worth it.

I *knew* something was going on. Enjoy your US/Canada exclusive, you lucky so-and-sos
If it's any consolation to you, I'm still going with Ember Red when I grab mine. I currently have a Tobacco Burst so I'm hoping to add another to the flock. Maybe these sparkle birds will land in your area eventually you'll be able to take flight with one.
