Epiphone ‘64 Thunderbird

Yeah, I think they’re pricey, for an Epiphone. I still remember when you could get a Gibson for around 1200, so there’s that. Like I said earlier, everything is costing significantly more & I guess almost all manufacturers are raising their prices noticeably.
I mean sure, I remember when gas was $0.75 per gallon, but that was a long time ago. Things change…
 
I don’t recall if it was here or Reverb, but I saw a Gibson NR for $1200 recently.

I paid $1,200 plus shipping for one in Inverness Green on Reverb about nine months ago. Basically unused and a killer bass for that price.

I have a question for those who are more familiar with the Thunderbird than me. Wouldn't the headstock on a '60s Bird be painted black with the custom color only around the edge?

As with many things in the 60s, they went both ways. There are confirmed original examples of Thunderbirds both with and without a black center section of the headstock.
 
This may be a mistake, but an EU retailer has placeholders for a Purple Sparkle and Brunswick Blue Sparkle Thunderbird 64...
