Well, just to keep you up to date. The Epiphone Ripper , maple body, neck and fretboard bass that I was so excited about, has been returned to GC.
The thread regarding that is here.

http://www.talkbass.com/threads/nbd-but-do-i-keep-it.1103144/

There was a huge amount of neck relief when it came home. After I adjusted it properly, I found that the bass needed a serious fret level job. If the bass had been perfect hanging on the rack with a price tag of what the total would have added up with the fret job, I would never have even picked it up.

So, I am back to playing my "red devil bass" in church on Sunday.

Hey guys, quick question...does anyone know the epiphone EB-O neck radius. I just picked one up, and defretted it. Now All I've got to do is put some rosewood veneer in and radius the board. Before buying a radius block, I'd like to know the radius. Thanks.

Also, I've found that the 3 point bridge has got to be the worlds worst design, so I'll probably replace it with a fender bridge.

Although the Epiphone website doesn't mention the radius, I think a safe bet would be a 12" radius, since basically all other models by Epiphone use a 12" radius fretboard...

I like the 3-point bridges and have absolutely no problem adjusting an intonating them... ;)

Why would you install a Fender bridge, when Hipshot offers a direct replacement using the original mount points? You would know that it is placed correctly, plus they have all kinds of adjustments.

2 reasons: The hipshot bridge in my opinion is extremely unattractive. And I can't justify putting a 90 dollar bridge on a bass I spent 100 dollars on. I have no problem with sinking a ton of money into an inexpensive instrument, its just that I would have be playing it rather often, and I can't realistically see myself playing this bass often enough.

+1 on the Hipshot bridge... It may be a versatile adjustable bridge - but it is also an eyesore of astronomical proportions IMHO...
