Epiphone Club

I like the EB looks and sound, but for me, the ergonomics are the problem. The EB 0 can balance pretty good, but you're going to need a good 3" strap to keep that EB 3 from neck diving (as well as a Grolsch washer to keep the strap close to the body) . The NYT in the bridge gives you a wider tonal pallette, and with some tweaking can even sound a bit RIC-like.

$200 is $99 off list (plus tax savings), so you have to ask yourself if you'd rather buy new and be able take it back if you don't like it.

I haven't owned one of these, but I've dated a few changing strings and doing setups for others. Much like a Les Paul, my body just isn't compatible with them.
Point well taken. I have a Epiphone Les Paul Special, and find it just fine with upgraded EMG Soapbars. BTW, I did win the bid on the SG EB-3, and it should arrive next week, so I'll update when I get it and have a chance to play it. Still thinking I should transplanr the bridge and neck pickup, as those are the two things I like most of on the EB-0! Stay tuned!

Our set last Saturday April 11, 2015.

Going Direct to mixing console to PA Speaker.
Epiphone Toby Deluxe V with DR Sunbeams -> Darkglass B3K -> Hartke Bass Attack -> a.) Direct Out to Mixing Console to PA Speaker b.) Line Out to Ibanez SW35 (as a stage monitor)

Got the EB-3 Saturday! I posted in the Epiphone Club, here on TB, but I'll review it again, here. The bass came to me from a shop, and to my surprise, after checking the vitals (relief, intonation and general condition) that it had been set up properly! What's more, I decided to order a Babicz bridge and it arrived the same day, and when I popped it in, it was intonated perfectly! Amazing! Anyway, had a long rehearsal the next day, and it really is a wonderful bass! I feel very comfortable with it, but have to learn the controls, as they are reverse of what I'm used to. The range of tone I can get is also a surprise. I kept the strings it came with, and am debating whether I should keep them or switch to flats immediately. We'll see. The only issue is the neck dive. It's horrendous, but, I have a nice strap to use on it and am just waiting for the strap locks to arrive. But, all in all, so far I really like this! It is MONSTER!

Silver Blues,
What a nice job you have done keeping this club going strong. I just stopped in to see how things were going and see 100 new members , that's great. I'll still be using my old number 85 as I do have a couple of Epiphones in my room. Just wanted to say Hello and Great Job. Nice to see the club being so strong. :-)).

Excellent! You can have #187. Welcome!
