Where did you scare up those *extremely* long-shank retro Fender-ish tuners?

If you notice the hs design, the tuners look long because the are positioned close to the edge. They are currently available Fender tuners. (Fender Classic Vibe) The Epi neck was made in the 80's (with a nod to the 60's batwing necks) so it most likely came with the now umbiquious Gotoh 'modern' design tuners with shorter stems and smaller keys. On a standard Fender hs, they wouldn't look so long. I had to open the peg-holes and file the back plates slightly so they fit w/o overlapping. All and all it ended up working well with the overall design.

I've since added this strap-peg extender to eliminate neck dive.

and FYI - it is for sale

So... um... since I returned my JC, and now own no Epiphone bass, I guess my number (190) should go back in the pool...

It was, obviously, a very nice bass. I wouldn't have bought it, had it not been. Felt good in my hands, looked killer, and sounded pretty good with tapewounds. But I couldn't get the sound out of the E string that I wanted, with either tapewounds or TI flats. Unfortunately, I sunk $100 for a set-up plus fretwork into it before deciding to return it. Live and learn.

Hi guys!

Sorry to barge in like this, but I'm hoping someone can help me.

I have a short scale EB3 (not the japanese elitist series, but a chinese reissue) and I'm looking for a case to fit it, but the original Epiphone case is way too expensive.

Does anyone know a cheap hardcase that can fit properly a short scale epiphone eb?

I guess I need a number too-- I own a recent EB-3 and a black JCS, and a blue JCS on the way. The black one looks spectacular with gold-plated hardware and a gold Babicz bridge-- but it will look even more interesting when I get done carving on it. More as it happens--

I apologize-- the Forms Must be Observed:

This is my little practice rig while I'm caretaking my 94-year-old mother, shoves up behind the living room chairs and has been a load of fun. The JCS is a little monster-- I'm changing all the metal to gold-plate, preparatory to more radical work-- watch these pages. My first bass was an EB-3, and when I saw that little guy for dog cheap at the local music store (hi, Music 6000!) I had to have it. It feels a lot like my old one, I mean a set-neck mahogany body and something resembling frets and the rest is very workable. I kind of like the longer pull over the old 30-incher, but not sure if it's worth the neck dive-- time will tell. In the meantime I have an old acoustic-guitar strap tied off at the nut, solves the problem nicely. It needs the frets done right and the electronics mostly replaced, and then it ought to be a right decent little machine. It will never replace my Fenders, but it's a nice capability to have on hand.

Welcome!

Carving? Oh yes-- I have a blue JCS coming, so this one we can use--

And shame on me, where are my manners-- thank you very much for the official nod! I'll try very hard not to be too obnoxious--
