I think I'm the first one here with an accubass :D

I've replaced everything except the body neck and bridge.

The neck pickup is a mighty mite active humbucker (I plan on replacing it with an emg sometime). It sounds and plays great. Do I get a number?

hey epi tbird owners, im looking for a new bass and am unable to decide between an epi tbird, and epi eb-3, or an ibanez iceman icb200. my question is this....how bad is the neck dive? can it be remedied? and how is the tone of the t-bird?

i just recently boought an eb-3. it's great i love it, but there is some neck dive. Anyways, i would reccomend it. great bass, nice tone.

Heres my Epiphone EB-O.

i tried the thunderbird at gc, something about the pickups i didnt like idk, i guess u could replace those if u wanted to if u do get a tbird think about buying the silverburst one it looks sweet

I only wish mine was silverburst and not sunburst...yep the pickups have that "unusually nasty" tone, and can be replaced if you like the looks, so basically for 100 more you have a really nice unit that is a good player for a lot of music stuff.

Count me in! If the OP isn't around to assign new #s and no one else will do so, I may pick it up where he left off. I have always liked bass guitars but never took the time to learn any instrument until I saw the Cream reunion and fell in love with the look and sound of JB's Gibson EB-1. Now at the age of 42 I am taking classes and doing pretty well, but still have a long way to go. :bassist:
IMO I was lucky enough to run across a second hand Epi EB-1 new in the box and grabbed it for $125. After a complete set up it plays pretty well but the A string is a little high. The action of the other strings is set low with no buzzing, so I will be installing a Supertone bridge as soon as it arrives in the mail. Other planned mods include a Darkstar pickup and curing the neck-dive which is pretty severe on this one.
Maybe one day I can afford $5K or so for a '58 or earlier EB-1 like JB's.
