can anyone tell me what this is and how to get this off? its relaly annoying and sticks to my shirt, plus it makes it look like crap

ok. i cant do anything about that. let me explain it:

its black sticky hard stuff thats too dense to scratch off. its also building up on my FB.

Is this from something that's coming into contact with the bass? Are you leaving a strap against it inside the case or something? Did something sticky get on there and now it's picked up lint? Is the stuff on the fretboard just gunk from your hand? What kind of finish on the bass, gloss, satin or oil?

Need more info. I'm sure there must be some kind of cleaner you could use but you don't want to ruin the finish either.

i think it mighta been from my shirt cause it was dirty. but i dont see how that much could get on there. and i was my hands before i play bass so i think its jsut particles building up or something. i dont know. and the finish is satin on the body, im pretty sure the neck and FB is unfinished to my knowledge.

just knowing how to get rid of it most efficiently would help the most
