Lost cause...might as well forget it. And Victor and Gerald are delusional, as well. Hearing things...minds are shot...
So you're telling us that Vic and Gerald, in addition to being great bassists, are also electrical engineers? Or are you saying that because of their abilities on the bass, they are geniuses in EVERYTHING?

I've tried the damn cord, Cameron. Does not work any better than any other cord. If you buy one, you got ripped off. If you sell them, you are ripping people off. If you allow your name to be used to sell these to people, you are either ripping people off or you don't know enough about electricicals to know that you're ripping people off.

My motto is "In God we trust...all others better have proof that their magic cable works." Where is it, Cameron? Where is the proof? Your golden ears? Vic's golden ears? HA! Sorry, ain't good enough. I'll take the word of an electrical engineer 100% of the time over Victor Wooten.

Mythbusters built a lead balloon.
I could do so also. I'd just use some simple engineering principles to determine the load capacity of the volume of heated air or helium being considered, then calculate the how thin the lead balloon's foil shell would have to be to come in at less than that load capacity. But a Zeppelin is a different story, as at the least it has to be able to lift not only its airframe but also its engines, fuel and crew, not to mention passengers and/or freight. It still might be accomplished, but the strength to weight ratio of lead foil would doom it to failure early on. And every bit of the calculation required to determine the feasibility of either project can be done without actually building anything, just as one doesn't need to listen to magic cables to know that they are a fraud. But if you haven't the slightest idea how electronics work you might be fooled into thinking that they do work, and low and behold, the snake oil merchants know that full well. No one is saying you have to be stupid to fall for their shenanegins, just uninformed. There's a cure for that: get informed. Or keep believing that here there be dragons.

Dude, don't be so snippy. You got zinged, deal with it.

Has the cord arrived? Has it been tested? Can we get a new thread for the test so we don't need to read through all of this thread? I gave up reading this about 20 pages ago.
Not me! I'm hanging on every word! I see no reason to pollute TB with any more threads about this garbage product, but I do want there to be a place you can go to bag on their outrageous claims that totally go against electricical physics.

I can read music and play brass instruments for parades and I don't mind working for free. The right place at the right time helped too.
Right on for the reading music. A great and valuable skill for anyone. I suggest to people who are considering buying one of these cords that they go and pay a teacher to teach them how to read music instead. You'll get way more mileage out of your money.

Pantys in a wad today? I bought the cord, it makes me happy why the witch hunt?

I thought you wanted me to be honest, Rich ;)

It's not a witch hunt. It's a calling out. I can't do anything about those who are happy with their purchase in the face of so much evidence that it doesn't work as advertised, so to you I'd say go forth and be happy and don't worry what anyone else thinks. But that doesn't mean the product works as advertised, nor does it mean I'm going to say that it works just to spare people's feelings. I'd rather people be upset with me than let this stuff go unquestioned and watch this guy get rich over a razzle dazzle ad campaign and no proof whatsoever. If that makes me a bad person, then I am a bad person. Sorry.

These cable threads (power cables especially) are usually entertaining. Thanks for keeping it mainly civil, despite the spirited "debate", if I may use the term.

Reading these threads is always instructive when considering how easily many of us (all of us, in the wrong circumstances) can be gloriously, magnificently wrong. The example that jumped out at me just was the classic "you can't comment on this until you've tried it" fallacy. I haven't tried breathing pure ammonia for 20 minutes either, but I know what I'd say to someone who was recommending it as a cure for a head cold. :D

I did single Rich out for learning how to read music, which I consider the number one skill a musician should have.

Yes, you commended him for learning to read music. +1

But what he seemed to take issue with was that you then recommended that anyone spend money on learning to read instead of on a foolish cable. That would seem like good advice and common sense for anyone, and not something to feel personally injured over, let alone feeling the object of a witch hunt.

I'm just curious why so many people think that if you hear a difference, it's there. The old "why don't you try it for yourself?" thing. If it's proven that it can't make any difference, and I heard a difference anyways, I'd just come to the conclusion that I was wrong. It doesn't matter who says they can hear it.
