I don't understand this stance at all. You get 30 days to try it out and if you don't like it, you get a full refund. And it's not like you're signing up for a cable of the month club that you can never unsubscribe from. I'm actually offended by your choice of the term "rip off".

Placebos work for some people.

Yet, if someone is selling a placebo as a real medicine - they're ripping people off. Even if people are happy with the placebo.

Fraudulent claims are fraudulent claims, no matter how satisfied the defrauded is.

No lawyers, easy man! :) I take it you no longer stand behind the statement: "...I do know that the MusicCord is all it's cracked up to be."?

My point is (and why I highlighted what I did from your original post) that it's not just about your liking the product (which of course, is totally fine!), it's claiming that the product does what the manufacturer claims.

It's all good man! You see the difference, right?

If it makes you feel better, we can quote the entire post unabridged:

The information is the same.

Looking at your website....

Have you really played in all 48 states? Or have you kinda played in all 48 states?

You know, "kinda played" like I got off the plane at Heathrow so I can say I visited the UK.

Oh, I see. Is this a personal attack? No, I've actually played where I say I have. It's verifiable that I've worked with the acts listed on my website & where they have been.

Come on, Cybersnyder, lets stay friendly. It's TB, man! :) There's really no need for personal stuff. I quoted what you wrote- how am I in the wrong?

I guess it's a personal attack if I mention something that you wrote, but it's cool if you want to do the same. I see.

He didn't say you attacked him. He asked if that's what you were trying to do. Your above quote seems to say that you're taking what he said as a personal attack, even though he didn't use anything you said even remotely out of context.

He quoted your original post, in the context of discussion directly related to your original post. You took a statement from his profile that has absolutely nothing to do with the thread and questioned its veracity, out of the context of the discussion, in apparent retribution for something he wrote that you didn't like. Are you seriously suggesting that you cannot tell the difference between those two things?

You did the same thing earlier in the thread when Bill wrote something that bruised your ego and you responded by attacking the appearance of his cabinets. Scotch is right: it is entirely uncalled for, and frankly it makes you look bad.

I think perhaps you're a little angry about something?

I certainly hope I didn't contribute to that. Seriously.

Calling into question the honesty of the statements on my personal website is not the same as me directly quoting a statement you made in this very thread. I quoted your sentence & then asked if you still felt the same way. Instead of answering, you attack my personal integrity? Ok, if that works better for you. Don't feel like you have to answer my question, it's an online forum after all... In fact, I posted a while back (in response to & conceding a point to Jauqo) that if the MusicCord makes you play better & you think you sound better - then great!

I was going to go with telling you to "prove it" not to question what you say but to point out that "proving it" is pretty tough sometimes and that we make statements that if you have to back up with evidence and photos and scientific studies then it gets rediculous. Maybe I'll just say "yes" and "no" in all future posts. Know what I mean?

Come on, you make up a rediculous story about playing barefoot. Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but it came across as taunting.

Sorry, feeling a little bit ganged up on here.

Well, I apologize if you feel that way. I've also been frustrated on more than a few occasions in this thread.

My frustration comes from the simple fact that scientifically speaking there is no way in hell these cables can do anything they claim. It's just not possible. The manufactures explanation either comes from an inability to understand basic scientific principles in relation to electric conductivity and circuits or it's an outright lie.

To those claim that the cable does affect their sound without accepting that what they are hearing is more than likely their own confirmation bias being played out in their "head" (WHICH IS TOTALLY NORMAL - IT'S WHY MARKETING/ADVERTISING EXISTS IN THE FIRSTPLACE) It's simply pissing headlong into a strong wind. With the wind being repeatable/testable scientific fact.

Sorry, feeling a little bit ganged up on here.

I can understand that seeing as you're one of a very few holdouts and you started the thread. You hear a difference?, maybe you do, noone can dispute that as we don't posses your ears. These guys are just explaining (over and over again) why you hear the difference and that it has nothing to do with the cable. Heck, if I spent 5x more than everyone else did on a cable, I'd want to hear an improvement too to justify my expenditure. Some have gone so far as to say this means your brain is working perfectly.

There is no room for feelings in science, engineering, physics etc. It can either be proven time and again or it can't. If you're happy with your cable, be happy with it, just know it has nothing to do with the cable.

I'm in total agreeance with steering the uninformed away from this stuff though. If some fancy hyped up power cable actually does sound different from a "regular" one, return it or throw it away, something's wrong with it. To follow some of this "logic" you'd have to burn your hand to prove fire can burn you.

If I recall correctly, according to the NASA guy on guitargeek.com, playing in certain, or no footwear might very well have an actual effect on the amount of noise that your body creates and transfers to your bass. Background EM radiation is supposedly a major factor in noise from unshielded instruments, and your body acts as a conductor, so the way in which your body is grounded will affect the level of noise in the electronics. The singer in my band has a tendency to sing barefoot so as not to get shocked from the mic, but I will have to do some blind tests to determine whether or not it affects the sound of the PA.:smug:

This is a little of topic, but again illustrates that there might be a point in listening to those who know what they are dealing with. I am not an engineer, so I am very appreciative of those who can help me avoiding getting ripped off (which I do not find to be an unreasonable term in this particular case). Thanks guys!:D

Jimmy, nice motto, I am beginning to suspect that your 'bassmoney' has generally been well spent.:)
