Ever bleed on your bass?

That's when you know you're having a good practice :D I was playing real hard when I looked down and noticed a blood blister growing on my right index finger. Said, what the hell, and kept playing. Once it popped I rubbed a little blood on the twelfth fret. Yeah, it's gross, but I'm never selling this bass... it's absolutely perfect for me, the best I've ever played. And what bass couldn't use a little more mojo? :)

So who else got some scars from playing?

A pic of the bass?

After playing a little too vigorously with a pick, I didn't even realize I was bleeding until I tried to put the pick down and it stuck to my finger. Then I tried to play the next song finger style and couldn't figure out why it felt so weird, until I looked down and noticed that my strings were so covered in blood that they had become sticky to the touch. Luckily this was on the last song of the night, otherwise I don't know what I would have done.

I'll try and find pics of the bass, but here's the mayhem that was my index finger:

I was on stage, playing our original set, and I got a bloody nose... Not a trickle, a pour...

I was covered, my Pedulla was covered, and the stage was covered...

I found out later, that in all my excitement, there were 10 drinks that were reordered because blood had flown off my face and into them on the dance floor...

Needless to say, I don't scream like that anymore....

I can't take the credit for that mess, but I was there to witness it. A dear friend of mine used to play for a metal outfit called GodAwakensPetrified, very heavy, & very animated. During thier CD release party he sliced his thumb up pretty good.....there was blood spray up into his armpit!!!

Now that is Metal!!!

Too bad that was my bass!!!

when i was younger i played a ric 4003. had the pickup cover off, and sliced my index finger on the sharp edge left over . that was fun. my current bass, "black moses" has been bled on a few times, I'm sure. It looks like it was on the beach at normandy with me.

About 15 years ago I was doing my 3rd public gig at a club in Atlanta. Popular venue. In the first 10 minutes, I got very animated with my bass and accidentally smacked the guitarist in the back of his head with the headstock. I almost knocked him out.

Then, 5 minutes later, I broke a string (never broken one since). I somehow sliced open my finger ripping the broken string from the bass. So I was bleeding everywhere trying to play the set with 3 strings.

Now I bring a backup set of strings.
