No really Relic I've never seen that kinda disgusting behavior on this one, I have seen it on other gun oriented threads though.
New Jersey has been discussed before if memory served me correctly and I don't recall any bad treatment towards the sites members whom were also residents of the state. Of coarse with the laws in Jersey/California etc. there's plenty of dislike for the states governing bodies & laws but it seems to always be much more limited to that than what you've experienced.

What forum are you using? PM me & I'll share the one I'm referring to so you can actually enjoy yourself there as well.
I have compared this place with TB numerous times, it's been I'd say 98% positive, informative and enjoyable.

Also what do you shoot? Carry? Etc?

But yeah, there were folks who separated the state gov't from the people just fine (in most cases I actually agreed with them) but a lot who didn't. I'd say that about 60% of the real nasty crap was sent by PM. the pansies wouldn't even post it publicly..:rolleyes:.

What I shoot - right now, mostly BP stuff. Flinters and such, but I also have a thing for historical pieces. Brit Enfields, Nagants, Mausers, M1 Garands. Also have a 10/22 that I love, and an AR-15 :) Carry? Whats this "carry" thing you speak of..? I'm from Jersey, "carrying" here is quasi-legal, where if you jump through a thousand hoops, come up with a very compelling reason, pay someone off, and are friends with a police chief or judge, you might (2% chance)be issued a carry permit. Otherwise you're just a peon. oddly, that was precisely the topic that usually resulted in my getting attacked if I chose to participate.

I'm here daily. Got bored with my bass for a few days and bought a guitar, but I came crawling back to the bass and this site. I normally don't like forums. I joined and ran a few and the politics always killed the fun from any hobby. Action figures, guns, militaria, all in the past because people suck. TB is entertaining. It's the only forum where I haven't received a nasty pm just because I do something a little bit differently or bought something they don't like. I can't say I've been bored with TB. I'd say about 80% of the things I know about bass I read here at one time or another.

I'm bored of TB right now. Infact I have to be really bored to wander into the OT subforum. Maybe I'm missing something as I've never had a post count above 1.01. Yet I keep coming back, because there is great information here, beautiful pictures, and some oddball characters that make things entertaining. It's either this or reading junk webnews to pass time while stuck in the office. Talking bass isn't nearly as rewarding as playing bass. I'll just fill my head with ideas until I can back to my four string toys later.

I know more about gear than the other kids at school and the guitar and bass teacher. It's really sad. I have to like..dumb stuff down to explain it to them. Ugh. I hate you TB. Yet I love you, too. $400 will cure my temporary guitar GAS. And then another $500, for another guitar. An Epi ES-339 and the goldtop LP. I must have.
