Ever Get Bored With TB?

As the title says, have any of you ever gotten bored of TB and taken a short break from it? I finally got my post count over 2.00 and it was 2.01, and then I was like "Yeah..I'm kinda bored now."

I'm not ragequitting or anything, it just doesn't seem the same anymore.

Yeah, I'm currently going through it now, the bass is a VERY enjoyable instrument, but there's only so much bass you can talk.

Off Topic was fun for a while and still an interesting read occasionally but I've found that lately I just wanna play more bass and talk less bass.

I will probably always support the site, as long as I come for advice and entertainment as it is a very valuable resource to have to fall back on.

Ahhhhhhhghgghhh! Who the hell am I kidding?

To many good people here to leave, WAAAAY to much incredibly deep knowledge to not sit like a sponge and soak it up.

The thing is...that I want to play guitar now..not bass. :bawl:

And I'm taking guitar lessons. But I miss TB so much. I'm so confused. Why can't there be a guitar version of TB, so that I can do both?

Hmm, never heard of ragequitting before. Sounds intense.

Actually, it's never been that boring, but I tried to quit. I tried to quit talkbass. Not ragequit, whatever that's supposed to mean. I took a short break. But ooooooh no, I fell off the wagon. I was like, oh yeah... :bassist: ...look at all these alluring posts.... what bass should I buy for under $400? (that should almost be stickied).... "space elevator".... "craigslist ads" :hyper:

I wouldn't say MOST guitar players are idiots, but I'd certainly say that there are more than a few of them out there.

Some of the absolute best friends I've had the pleasure of knowing have been great guitarists.
In my experience guitarists that are actually good and play for the love of it, are usually really humble and good people.

I mean really you can say the same for any group of musicians EVERY instrument has a following of all types.

Having spent 6/8 months here on TB I can definitely see its NOT limited to 6 strings and a shorter neck, that's for sure. Fortunately with TB the good outweighs the bad by leaps and bounds.

Point being there's bad apples in EVERY bunch. TB is no different, yes it's a great site, but ONLY because the mods here stay on top of the BS.
If not for them TB would be exactly like most other forums.

I've only seen one forum where arguing/whining/disrespect/etc. typically just don't happen and surprisingly it's a gun forum.
Go figure, who'd a thunk those gun crazies would be the civil ones?

I personally got bored of it and only ever check out the OT section, the other forums are just an endless remix of "P vs J", "ricks and gibsons suck!", "tube VS solid state amps", and the good old "what is the best bass for metal?"

I very often find myself in 100% agreement with you on most things but this is one time that I have to strongly disagree...
Granted, we're probably talking about two different forums but by far the worst, most disrespectful and nasty forum I've ever been on is a gun forum.. I belong to it basically as a lurker now, as there's a lot of good info posted there but I don't dare post anything anymore. The hang up is that I'm from NJ, apparently that renders one a "loser" a "commie" and my opinion, experience and input is totally invalid..:hmm:. I don't just mean that in a "sour grapes" way, I can take good-natured ribbing and such all day long. What I mean is that if I post anything related to gun laws/ownership or such I get torn to pieces. I've been told that "if I'm a gun owner that lives in NJ, I don't deserve to live at all" , I'm told that none of us can actually shoot. I've been told that "we should all just die"...?? some seriously nasty, mean-spirited folks there. I've been told that "my whole family down to my kids are all f-ing losers", there is SOOO much real hatred for NJ, Cali and Mass that's its disgusting. There are some good folks there too, but man too many bad apples there.

But as for the OP - yeah sometimes I do get bored of TB and take a break, but it really is one of the absolute best forums out there. Even when I do feel the need to take a break, it's usually not for too long.

Since I usually use the TB app on my phone I just go in the current section and read whatevers interesting and when my phone dies or runs out of service that's when I'm done so I never really get bored. Also there are some really good and long threads on here!

No really Relic I've never seen that kinda disgusting behavior on this one, I have seen it on other gun oriented threads though.
New Jersey has been discussed before if memory served me correctly and I don't recall any bad treatment towards the sites members whom were also residents of the state. Of coarse with the laws in Jersey/California etc. there's plenty of dislike for the states governing bodies & laws but it seems to always be much more limited to that than what you've experienced.

What forum are you using? PM me & I'll share the one I'm referring to so you can actually enjoy yourself there as well.
I have compared this place with TB numerous times, it's been I'd say 98% positive, informative and enjoyable.

Also what do you shoot? Carry? Etc?
