Yup, normal for anyone going out with a crazy chick.
2 years from last mother's day. My (now ex) wife and I go to a brunch thing with my whole family at knotts berry farm. I happen to be wearing my new (at the time) and awesome radiohead shirt. Being that its an awesome shirt, this one random girl, as she is passing me by, says to me, innocently enough, 'I really like your shirt'. She might as well have said "Your shirt makes you look so irresistable that I have the urge to rip my panties off, lay on this floor, and have you mount me in front of everyone in attendence". I mean, maybe the girl was been slightly flirty, but what can I do about random passers by making a comment on my choice of attire. My ex flew off the handle saying how she wanted to beat this girl up and she shouldnt be talking to a married man, etc... My whole family told me she was nuts. They were right.
They are irrational.
My wife once had a DREAM that I was flirting with another girl and was mad at me all the next day.
^^ Yes, that is a bit beyond, I can handle quirks and off days and can make allowances for ever changing needs (I have to, being myself, that's only fair), I was thinking more 'mainstream' stuff, don't get me wrong, I've also come across a few bunny boilers that were certifiably dangerous too.
Having a yelling match in public is just so low class. I've dated exactly one woman who thought it was okay to air things out loudly and in public. Our relationship ended that night.
My wife and I don't even yell at home. It's not really in our nature, and even if it was we don't want the kids (3, 1 and negative 6 months old) to see us fighting.
On the other hand our neighbors have drag out screaming fights regularly (complete with shouted f bombs) and they often spill out in to the front yard, mostly ending with the wife getting in her car and peeling out down the street.

My ex-wife would have those dreams, too! Except I was doing more then flirting in them. She would be pissed at me all day because of her insecurities. Drove me nuts.
