I like wedding gigs. Appreciative audience, good $ and early hours.

I'd rather play that than anything by the Plain White T's or Jason Mraz.
I almost quit a band when they wanted to play, "carry on my wayward son." I also refuse to play brown eyed girl one more time. Life is too short
Awful. Horribly awful song. I wouldn't even do it for the paying client. Wouldn't be able to look at myself in the mirror if I had to play that. Even if I was contractually obligated, I would need to close my eyes and then block it out with more pleasant thoughts (comparatively speaking) like being prison raped or clubbing baby seals.

That's a cool way to look at it. On June 22nd CMM will occupy 3 minutes of my life. And I'll probably have a blast playing it, because I'll take the advice of many who've weighed in here and "tweak it" a little. I'm actually working on that now between posts.. But on June 23rd I will bgin to lobby my band to NOT add this to any of our set lists. I may be willing to compromise that if it's a slow night and someone requests it, then what the hell. But I do not want to feature it. At all.

Wow. Funny how life works. Hope you're recuperating well.malthumb said:Just thought I'd provide an update......
On June 22nd, my band did perform CMM at a private party. I say "my band" performed it, because they did but I did not. But not for the reason(s) you might think!!!
The party was on June 22nd. On June 21st I was released from Henry Ford Hospital after a 6-day stay courtesy of viral meningitis. Picked it up in or on the way to Stuttgart. It didn't look like I'd be released in time for the gig, so my band started working with a replacement. Since I did get out in time I, despite my wife's insistence, went to and played two out of three sets at the gig. Even had my kids there as the "opening act". But the guy who was gonna replace me worked so hard we had him play a set and CMM was in that set. It went very well.
....
I'd have to put on my thinking cap to make this one shine...maybe a metal version:
