Ever write off an entire brand?

I wouldnt go as far as say "written off" but I havent been a huge fan of Ibanez or Gibson basses. The Ibanez's Ive tried are very comfortable but a bland, meh, sound. The only Gibson bass I would like to have (if I could get one dirt cheap) is an EB3, and I know it would just be an occasional play.

Lately, yes. There was a time in the late 90s to early 2000s when I was a total fanboy. If EHX didn't make it, I didn't need it. The big-box 24V Deluxe Memory Man is my oldest pedal and also my deserted island pick. I feel like they may have lost their way with the Nano series. Their pedals used to be the most expensive, but they did more than any other brand (I'm of course not including Line 6 because modeling is cheating, IMHO). Now they want to be small and around $99 to $199.99. I feel like they got sucked into the quantity over quality spiral.

I got burned by a Switchblade Pro, I think it was. Whole point was a channel switcher, every time I hit the switch I got a pop. Was using an isolated power supply and didn't have any other pedals have issues off that supply, so I just kind of trashed the idea. I picked up a POG2 only because I couldn't find anything else that had the features in one box. Glad to say that works beautifully, but I debated on it for months before I pulled the trigger.

This might come off as a rant or get labeled as "1st world problems", but I recently bought a pedal from a very respected, high-volume maker. I'm not "naming names", but I'm disappointed. Literally every pedal I've bought from them is posted on Reverb the same day as trying them. Most pedals I give a period of "getting to know each other", but every one of their pedals gets a "nope!" almost immediately.

Ever have this happen?

*rant compete*
Never. I recommend my approach: with a single exception in my adult life, I do homework before spending my money.
