Everybody still loving their X2 wireless?

I've got a Sennheiser 172 that needs to be shared with my son(playing bass in high school MARCHING BAND!). The price drop and monthly payments at AMS give me another reason to get one....."in case of schedule conflicts" we'd both have a wireless and I'll have a spare.
The Sennheiser gets the football field test next week.
Allright, after recording all week, I HATE MY NADY WIRELESS.
It's got such a weak, weak signal. Had my gain up to 2:00-3:00 and when I plugged my PlanetWaves cable in (to not kill batteries while recording for hours) I had to immediately dial down the gain back to around 12:00 cuz the straight signal is so much stronger. It doesn't really suck tone or colorize it, but what a weak, weak signal level. I'm sure having the gain cranked added lots of hiss.
I also noticed that my cable is not as "clean" as a wireless. When I walked towards my amp, had the usual 60-cycle hum when I let go of my strings. Another reason to stay wireless.
My brother and I tested an X2 unit at a store, with a Randall rig and an ESP Alexi Laiho LTD. The amp was at the back of the store, and he wandered to the front of the store. Played from there, around 40-50 feet away. AWESOME.
We tested every situation. Full on, rolled off volume, high gain on amp, clean on amp, switching the transmitter on and off, plugging/unplugging from the guitar, and then, of course, straight cable. It was a hotter signal than the straight cable! And easily just as clean. Even on full gain overdrive channel, no terrible hissing or static.
I'm just waiting for my current wireless gear to crap out, then I'll drop the cash on the X2. Which leads me to a question...
Can anyone tell me the actual improvements or differences between the portable setup and the rackmounted setup? Besides dual-antennae and rack-mounting, is there any major upgrades or benefits in performance? Or is it just really really nice compared to the portable system?

I love it! It worked perfectly. Now I only got about 40-50 feet away from my rig but it worked without a flaw. Outdoor gig under a awning type covering held up by metal poles. No interference drop out static nothing but great bass tone. I have the stompbox version and just sit it on top of my speaker cab with my LMII and tuner.
Are there different results when it comes to placement of the receiver? Ideally I'd want to put mine on my pedal board which goes on the floor in front of me. Am I better off keeping it up high though, on top of my rig? Or is that just a matter of personal preference?
Just ordered myself one, AMS has them on for $300 new, couldn't say no to that. Been finding the cable between the bass and pedalboard really annoying lately. Add to that the benefit for soundcheck and overall "fun" on stage and I think it is a no-brainer. Will see if I can convince our guitar player to get one as well.

It arrived and I LOVE IT. The sound is fantastic (still playing with Tx pack location variations) and it is so easy to use. Next gig is the 20th so will be a while before I really put it through its paces.

I have had no dropouts including when I walked into other rooms of my house where line of sight was gone.
Now, a lesson to all.
I think 8 hours is the max on the transmitter battery.
How do I know? Midway through my kick-ass solo
Saturday night, my rig cut out completely. Dead silence! The battery died on the transmitter belt pack. My receiver on the pedalboard is powered by my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power II.
So, if you think your near the end of your battery's life, and you have a gig, change the battery!

Yep, towards the end of my second gig on the same battery the red light started flashing. I think I'll order the power adapter for it.

Maybe delay in sound arriving at your ears from amp, but the signal is flying back to your amp at near the speed of light.

Delay between the transmitter and receiver. It's noticable once you get beyond a certain distance.
I've had my X2 for a few months now with no problems.
The time required (roughly) for a signal to travel 50 ft. is .0000005 seconds. Or does the extra signal processing due to signal degradation cause the delay?
Are you sure it's just not the sound delay of being 50 ft. from your speaker cab? That would be .044 seconds.
That's right, it's the delay of the sound coming from your speaker cab and delay from the drummer beating the drums 50 + feet away. Not a good thing.
Just bought one of these and Im very impressed.
Im an effects junkie and I notice no difference at all to my sound, hell the wireless mine just sound better than cable!
My only negative is the clip for attaching it to your strap, its absolute rubbish!
What have the rest of you done with it?
I was thinking o maybe putting a safety pin or two to hold it in place...?
