53 P 9# (ash, no contours)
62 P 8.5# (alder)
84 P Elite 11# (ash)
Am Std P-5 9# (alder)
Interestingly, when strapped on the P-5 feels much heavier then the 62 and the 53 feels lighter than the 62. The Elite seemed light when I bought it (coming from a slab T40) but now feels like it's made out of cement, not ash.
For reference I also weighed:
Steinberger L2 8#
60s Dano/Silvertone 5#!!! ooh baby
50s plywood DB 20# good thing I don't have to strap it on![]()
Hey there, great bass collection! I'm curious, if anyone knows how much a standard bridge, pickups, pots and knobs weigh on a Pbass? My '72 Precision has an alder body and weighs 8.5 lbs.
