Exactly how much does your Fender bass really weigh?

53 P 9# (ash, no contours)
62 P 8.5# (alder)
84 P Elite 11# (ash)
Am Std P-5 9# (alder)
Interestingly, when strapped on the P-5 feels much heavier then the 62 and the 53 feels lighter than the 62. The Elite seemed light when I bought it (coming from a slab T40) but now feels like it's made out of cement, not ash.
For reference I also weighed:
Steinberger L2 8#
60s Dano/Silvertone 5#!!! ooh baby
50s plywood DB 20# good thing I don't have to strap it on
62 P 8.5# (alder)

Am Std P-5 9# (alder)

To a degree, the balance can affect how heavy a bass feeels. If the neck is a little on ther heavy side, it can make a lighter bass sometimes feel heavier than a bass that actually weighs more.

Here's my latest toy and my lightest bass, the Danelectro Longhorn. 5 lbs 11 ounces. Of course, it's not a Fender and it feels like a toy by comparison, but man, what a tone.
My '72 Precision has an alder body and weighs 8.5 lbs.

Even though they weigh the same, the center of gravity on them is vastly different. When I pick up the 4 from the rack it doesn't 'swing', but when I pick up the 5 from the rack, with the center of gravity different, it has a tendency to swing. Had the thing less than 24 hours and nicked the back of the body because of that...

Wow, some of you guys have some nice light basses.
My five Fender basses are as follows:
2003 MIM Precision, poplar body — 9.1 lbs.
2009 MIA Jazz, alder body — 9.5 lbs.
2013 MIJ Mustang Bass, alder body — 7.7 lbs. (this is a short scale Fender bass)
2013 MIA Jazz, alder body — 9.0 lbs.
2015 MIA Precision, alder body — 9.0 lbs.
All We're weighed on a digital bathroom-type scale in kilograms, then converted to pounds. The numbers on the scale jump around a bit, so I'd have to say the results should be viewed as +/- .1 kgs (.22 lbs.).
I set a weight limit of 9 lbs. max when buying new (to me) instruments, a little self-imposed rule that I foolishly broke for the 9.5 lb Jazz (I'm pretty sure that one's gonna be up for resale at some point as over 9 lbs. just becomes un-fun for me). Anyway, the weight limit thing helps explain my three ~ 9.0 lb. basses
