would a AGUILARD TONE HAMMER 350 with a 1x12 cab keep up with drums?

It certainly does. I've played many gigs with a TH350 and a Bergantino CN112 cab.
I do have the luxury of having another cabinet - typically for outdoor gigs I bring both of the 112's, but for most gigs we play (think your local watering hole, casino's etc) a TH350 and 1x112 cab works great for me.

I'd focus on the head here. 500 watts at 4 ohms should be about right, so the the aggie, markbass, gk and so one as you'll be able to take that pretty easily.

I missed where OP was from, but some South American countries have really high import duties that can effectively double the price of the item. So, if you can pick up used in the US at say half new US price, it could be effectively a 75% sale event for the OP.

Just about, but you'd be better off with the 2x10, Imho.

Another little secret is if you want more volume, you add more speakers/cabs as opposed to more watts. You're (in general) going to get a WAY bigger boost in volume using the TH350 with two 2x12 cabs as opposed to the TH500 with a single 2x12 cab (of the same build).

HOWEVER...

The problem with going with the TH350 is it only has one speaker output on the back of it. You'd only be able to (in nearly all circumstances) attach one cab to it. The TH500 lets you attach two cabinets, which you definitely want as an option. I'd just get the TH500 and call it a day...


or a GK MB500...or a GK 700RB-II...

This is misinformation. Just about all modern cabinets have the capacity to daisy chain and the Tonhammer 350 EASILY pushes two 8ohm cabinets. There's only one speakon out for space saving reasons.
On my last outdoor gig I used the Tonehammer 350 w/ two MarkBass 102P cabinets. Plenty loud!!

For a small live band where space is at a premium, and a small-ish budget; I'd have a hard coming up with something better than the Magellan 350 Combo

Realistically if a band it louder than this cab can support... you're too loud.
If you want more down the road, you can add an expansion cabinet.

that depends on your cabinet, and drummer. If the drummer is extra loud and you have a 8ohm 1x12 cabinet, the TH350 probably won’t be enough. If it’s a moderate/quiet drummer and you have a 4ohm 4x10 cabinet, the TH500 should be fine.

Before you jump on the Tone Hammer amps I’d ask yourself what sound you’re after, how you are with parametric eq controls, and how well you understand eq curves? If you aren’t familiar with those and don’t want an old school sound, I’d absolutely suggest a different amp head for you.

The Tonehammer 500 w/ 4ohm 4x10" cabinet will get VERY loud, not just "ok" for quiet/moderate drummer.

Didn't say you couldn't daisy chain two compatible cabs or that the TH350 couldn't "push two 8phm cabinets" either lol. 100% buying new? Not a problem for the OP...however, not all cabs on the used market have the ability to daisy chain. Irrelevant though, the OP cited 3 other heads in the running on the follow-up thread to this one.

But yeah, more recently-designed cabs have the parallel out than in previous years. It's a good change to see, just like the move to speakon connectors instead of 1/4"

Hello mates!
I am planning to get my first big amp, I have had several small combos, 80 watts the biggest, but now I want to upgrade.

What do you recommend ? I want to have an interesting good sounding amp that allows me to play in stage. I am not a big star so I would have eventual small gigs. Mostly garage band rehearsals.
Yeah some will say "hey the best option is this a million dollar amp" but I have a limited budget. About 1.500 USD.

One person told me I should get a good Head and dont worry that much about the cabinet. That allows me to transport it easily. That I could even borrow or rent the cabinet for the occasion .
In the other hand, I could buy a good 800 watts combo for 1.000 USD which is so big that I would need a truck to carry it around.

What do you say? It's worth to say that It would be an amp that I will accompany me for long time.

If I were in your shoes and with your budget, I'd look to a Markbass combo.
They have very powerful heads and no quality compromise vs separates of the same brand. Pricing is $1199 but you can usually negotiate a better price and have money leftover.
