Explain fuzz to me and why I need it.

I got fuzz, filter, phaser, ring mod, parametric EQ, compressor, pitch shifter and delay in my fingers.
Nah man...it's all about the cable. Especially coiley cables, which give that vintage tone. You want a darker tone, use a darker cable. Bright tones? White cable. Distorted, rather than straight fuzz? Tie a knot in the cable. Clean w/just a hint of grind? Stand on the cable. Melt-yer-face aural carnage? The whole band stands on the cable. Want to sound like Jack White? Vintage, coiley, beat-to-hell cable.
