well...
my old username was SCODI but I felt that I had changed as a person since I first registered here at Talkbass I've become a little older, a little wiser and just wanted to "re-register". So I discided to change my username. I sent an email to Paul requesting this and signed it "The Artist formerly known as SCODI", just as a joke (you know, like prince did, or should I say "the artist formerly know as prince? -whatever..)
Anyway he must have thought I had signed it "the artist" (formerly known as "SCODI") and asked me if I wanted to change it to "the artist". I thought it was much better than the original name I had had in mind (it was just "Alexx", like Alex just with two x's, kind of lame now I think of it ) so now I'm happy to be "The Artist"

When I was trying to get a Domain Name, my real name was taken, as was Bassman, I chose BassLand because it was about the land of the bass and it was my initials BL (Bob Lee)

I got the idea for my username while reading "The Big Book of Conspiracy" There was some UFO conspiracy titled "Alternative Three" it was about the govt creating colonies on the moon and stuff. I started using it first at Deviantart.com as an AVS artist because there were numerous ways of typing it: altiii, alt-iii, alt111, alt333, alt3, 417333 etc. Just gave me an easy default way of naming AVS Preset Packs.
I also use it for AIM (AltThree) as well as PunkIndiana.
