Got the acoustic. It looks as good as it sounds. My bass calluses are inadequate! For an acoustic, the action is considered low. It sounds good, so I'll have to adapt to the strings.
I don't have it yet.
Its just been finished.
Before shipping, Bud LeCompte lets the bass settle in for a week, then he makes final tweaks if needed.

Ok I'm Jonesin' really bad, REALLY BAD. I walk into one of my GC's down south a little, checking to see if there's any Fender Am. Dix. 5 string Jazzes there to compare with the one that's up at one of my Sam Ashes that plays incredible and I love the thing except I wished it were black bodied. Anyway, nothing in a 5, so I wander over to the used section and see most everything is gone for the holidays compared to normal and then I see it........
.......it's a looks like walnut topped, zebra bodied Conklin 8 string Custom. Oh my! The neck is wide of course but pretty chunky as in way more than any other 7 I've played. It's not bad though. It IS STUNNING though.
Looks like Vol. Blend, and two sets of 3 band EQ with Lane Poor pickups. Gotta be 12 pounds! It is missing the next to highest string and what's there are pretty dead. Played well but didn't plug it in missing that string. I'll be back. Looked like the bottom was a low B so that would make it B E A D G C F Bb? Looked like Di Addario's on it. If I get it, I think I'd start at F# and go up from there seeing as I have a powered 18 at the house!

Check out Link Removed All kinds of info and pricing there. I'm not sure of any other "pre-packaged" string sets anywhere
