External Speaker Jacks ???

Whats the main purpose for the external speaker jack on both the backs of my Peavey Basic 112 and my Acoustic B200 it also states in tiny letters 8 ohms minimum external speaker which adds to my confusion??????

So... the ohms part of your question is answered in the ohms FAQ, which you should read through.

The purpose of an external speaker jack is to add an additional speaker cab so that the amp's sound is coming from both the built-in speaker and the external cab. The reason it has an ohm rating is because all cabs must have a specific ohm-rating relationship to each other, and to the amp, in order to work well and not burn up the amp.
