Double Bass Extra long strings

Hey all,

For a (semi-electrified) upright bass I am looking for an extra long flatwound string. It should be at least 74.80 inches long. That is 190cm.

Is there any shop or stringmaker around that can supply a string like that? It should have the diameter of an average low-E string on double bass.

My Thomastik Spirocore S42 (4/4 string) E string is 167,5 cm long. Too short for you.
If you only need the E string as long as 190 cm you might get what you need if you look out for an extended E string (for basses with C extension, preferebly for a 4/4 bass). But even they could be a bit too short (you need to check with players of C-extension basses or the manufacturers).
You won't find higher pitched stock strings of this length, but some manufacturers who cound make extended E strings may be able to make extended higher pitched strings on request (and probably much more expensive).
