F Bass Reality Check

I just snagged this BN5 yesterday.

It is incredibly well made and gorgeous. It helps that I was able to get a great deal on the bass but I am still acclimating to the feel and sound. It may need some new strings and a new 9v, but so far so good.

It’s mostly that I’ve been playing a lot of short and medium scale basses, including a 5 string Serek Midwestern 2 that’s 32” scale-length.

I've owned lots of basses (several F Basses included), and there is only one bass that I truly regret selling.

It's a seafoam green F Bass VF4 with 70s pickup spacing. It sounded amazing, and played even better. Here is a video a made with it several years ago:



Sadly, I will probably never be able to afford another one.
