face plant almighty

idiots and escalators don't mix.

There was a local news story on my home page this morning where a local providence man fell 20 ft. off an escalator trying to ride the moving railing while standing up. He is in critical condition

They also remarked on an incident in the same mall one year earlier a man fell to his death trying to jump from one escalator to another.

I don't know,.... maybe they are just scared because they don't know where the steps go.

What about that escalator that leads to nowhere? The one on The Simpsons.

:hiding:

Hmm. The first one reminds me of how much risk I've been in for the past few years. My HS has escalators that go up 2 floors every floor (that's a 1.5 story escalator, I think) and people are always doing stupid crap on them. I wonder if anyones ever really fallen down one before.... must've been gross.

Then again, I can't imagine anyone in my school (ever) would have the balls to do that on one of our escalators. I dont have a friend, though, who has jumped from under the Tribecca bridge (which is about 1.5 stories off the ground). He doesn't think its stupid, but I guess if he were to ever get hurt, then it would look a lot like one of these videos.

Does anyone know where I could buy those shoes? This company in Germany sells it:

but I'd rather not pay 800ish Euros. Yet I must have these shoes. I'd feel like an idiot if I bought them and then a company in China started selling them for $100 :hmm:

PS: Excellent, the shoes are being manufactured in China (illegally, most likely). I'm sending an email now to see if I can get a pair...

PPS: Available in America for $500 (made by the Chinese company).

Can anyone find a better price? It must be possible to get them under $300.

Honestly if i were buying those jumping boot things, i'd want expensive well made ones, if the construction is crap and they break you'll be in for a world of hurt
