I also find it creepy that Google's ads crawl my email messges and that they keep a record of all my searches...google might be just as bad for invading privacy...this world is sick! I quit the Internet.

Groan. Facebook couldn't "take over the internet" even with unlimited money. Has Microsoft taken over the internet? Obviously not. Do they want to? Yes, and they've wanted that for many years. Could they afford it? Gates is one of the richest men on the planet. Anyone who thinks facebook is any more insidious than a fart in the breeze just needs to look at all the drying corpses and feeble has-beens that used to be "the next big thing" on the internet. Even Ebay has begun to fail.

Microsoft certainly want to, so do facebook.

Google already have it tied up, almost everyone uses google to find anything, its linked into most browers now, google ads are intergrated into a huge percentage of websites, and they have a huge variety of other services used by businesses ect.

Google are already the surpreme empire of the the internet, and they have been for years now. If anyone has a monopoly, its them.
