Fairfield Circuitry - THE CLUB

So after discovering that a shop here in Germany actually carries the Fairfield stuff, I ordered the Barbershop ME and an Accountant on impulse. They're incoming. Seems like my overdrive quest is in full swing...no way to deny it any longer.
I went from a VT Bass to a B7K to a VMT and currently use a Solid Gold Beta, which I really love. However I'm just too curious to not at least give the Barbershop a try. Application: Slight dynamic drive/preampish. Let' see.

I checked them out and found prymaxevintage cheaper
Might be, but I loathe longer waiting-times and back and forth with customs. Or is there sth. about them that I don't know?

I know that customs in germany are a bit temperamental and understand that it is a real deterrant!

Well temperamental...not sure. Thing is: The thing arrives, customs snatches it up and you're faced with the choice of either picking it up in person (they're usually located in the middle of nowhere on the outer limits of town, i.e. one hour roundtrip by car and waiting in line with a whole lot of other folks who want their stuff. Furthermore: Opening hours are not very worker-friendly) or to send them the receipt so they can calculate what you owe them and they send it to you (i.e.: one more week of waiting).

First you pay then it arrives an they snatch it up and just won't get on with processing it, you travel and pay again...terrible!
Germany is crap in that regard. They make it real difficult.
Thats how I know it too and with something as small as an effect pedal there's usually no bill either.
Usually these things just get delivered in the mail.(speaking from the very limited experience i have with these things)
Wanted some Fairfield gear for a while now. Just bought the Accountant Compressor. It was the right size and right price. I know I know. In the all out crazy world that is Fairfield effects, I bought the most subtle effect possible. But if it is any consolation I'm using it in its most extreme setting. My Rane DC24 dual channel Compressor/Limiter covers all of my subtle compression and peak limiting. I bought this little squish box monster so I could get the most ridiculously smashed compression around. It makes every note sound like it is blowing a speaker. Such a gnarly little compressor! Quite pleased! Pictures of it on my board will be in the 'Biggins' thread and the 'show your board' thread once a few other pieces of gear show up and I can clean things up a bit.

hmm i believe the builder offered the schematic to the guys from tagboardeffects, so i think it's fine.
I don't agree. This is a thread for Fairfield Circuitry products, not clones of Fairfield Circuitry products. Start your own thread.
haha but it seems to be a thread about customs issues, canadian postal services and other stuff as well, so just let me ask my fairfield-circuit-related question and don't waste your time replying here if you don't want to help!
Guillaume posted the v1 schematic, never the millennium edition one. Unless someone who has the v2 is willing to trace it for you (very doubtful this will happen), I suggest you get a v2, trace it, and make your clone. Or design the mod yourself?
I agree that this is the Fairfield club designed to show support for a builder that does not make tired old clones. Another thread would be a better place to ask this.

hm alright. i think i will build it on an experimental board first and then try to somehow add a variable low pass filter. thnks!
