Another Accountant update. Last night I played at our new rehearsal space which comes with a provided GK Backline 600 powering an Acoustic 410. I don't remember the model number of the 410, but it appears to be a sealed cab, or is possibly ported out the back, but I didn't see anything back there. Much like my experience through the full SVT/810 rig, if I used any of the onboard overdrive, in this case GK's Boost circuit, the Accountant ended up being too much. With this rig I turned the Boost circuit all the way off and let the Accountant do the overdriving and was much happier with the result. With the SVT I'll let it do the overdrive and compression, but with this rehearsal rig, the Accountant's overdrive is much better in the mix than the GK's Boost circuit.

Finding more to like about this pedal all the time!

Did a big gig last night with my GK MB800/fEarful rig. The accountant performed great as usual. This venue has exceptional monitoring. I had vocals, bass, and a little guitar in my wedges. I had the soundguy set the guitar volume too low in the monitor, so my monitored bass wasn't so much blending with the guitar as it was sitting on top of it. The overdrive of the Accountant, which normally glues the bass and guitar together very nicely was a little too present for my taste. I didn't bother having him fix the monitor mix mid gig, but I have heard live recordings and it sounded GREAT out front. Definitely a case of something sounding ugly on it's own working very well in the mix.

Sorry, did not want to come off that way. Really, my guess is that Guillaume got a better response on the Maude than expected, he kind of hinted at that in previous posts. And, the Maude was delayed a bit (no pun intended).

He made 1000, now he is redesigning it. It will be in a smaller enclosure, it will have a bit more range and an added switch.

As in expanding the gain? I kind of like it as is. A two channel version would be awesome. Hopefully it retains the transparency and low end. It really is a marvelous, simple piece of equipment. I wish I had known about it before going through several Tech21 products in search of a simple light OD/boost/tube emulator. I let my guitarists try it out last week and they were both floored...they didn't want to give it back. I'm itching to try his other products as well.

I don't remember exactly what it was that I read about the extended range, may have been about drive. That is the mockup that Guillaume posted before.

Actually, the knob fully clockwise is sag rolled off. Not sure if just mine is like that or they all do counter clockwise for more sag. I usually keep it around 1:00 with my CS-3, but I'm experimenting with the pad settings on the Acct.
