Fakin' it - All the way from China......

This is just plain wrong! It's one thing to rip off a design; but, these people steal the name too! I just looked at a P-Bass that said "Fender made in U.S.A." on the headstock! As for construction, the P-Bass neck had a truss rod adjustment in the headstock! Why would anyone buy from these dishonest people? Would you wear your fake Rolex while playing it?

This is so funny! Especially how poorly they did most of the Rics. And the Fodera MG Sig...CLASSIC! I wonder whether some of these things are actually decent instruments, though? I am considering buying some basses just to do crazy mods and make a ton of $$...but I would feel like a total a-hole. Not to mention, supporting the Chinese economy like that...

Give them a generation and they very well could be producing competitive instruments, much like the Japanese have.

I am old enough to recall when 'made in Japan' was synonymous with pure junk and people willingly laughed at the ugly little cars from Datsun and Toyota.

Okay. My bud sent photos as well as the link to what he purchased. Said it looks, feels and sounds good - we had a laugh - all the paperwork in the case actually says "Gibson" - crazy. He said the only thing was that the knobs were cheap. But aside from that he said all was cool. Keep in mind - $375 w/shipping for a copy of a $4K guitar. It's a "Gibson Les Paul Custom"

Are there differences? I'm sure, but you know that going in...

It sounds so much better when you read it in a stereotypical racist asian voice

Update us on the sounds more man, once he gets a feel for it.

This operation ought ot be shut down, and (obviously) barring that, all imports should be banned. They are not ripping off a design, they are making couterfeit instruments. They state Made in USA and the name Gibson on it? this is beyond the pale. Some guy is going to resell this on craigslist or TB or Ebay, and someone is going to get scammed hard. And you cant say buyer beware, because it has a fake name plate and serial #.

I'm normally all for free markets and such, but this is just flat out wrong.

Local Pawn shop has one, its a 'Frampton' sig Les paul, they were asking $2K for it.. if you didn't know what you were looking for you wouldn't question it..
Went back a week later, he'd sold it.. someone got ripped
