Two small children, two f/t working parents, gigging 3-4 X monthly. Life happens. But let's not criticize my bud - he was kind enough to play guinea pig for all of us and provide photos. I will give him a week or so w/it and let you know his thoughts - will also afford me the chance to get over there and play it/inspect it myself :)

Looks like a half decent guitar for the cash he paid. However, because of what it is, I'd rather spend my money on an Epiphone LP, knowing at least my cash didn't go to finance a company like this. And I'd sleep better at night.
I've also never understood the guys that buy things like this(no offense intended to your friend), nor those that slap Fender stickers on Squiers/partscasters. You might be fooling everyone else, but you're still not playing a Fender/Gibson. And you know it, if no one else does. Doesn't really seem worth it, to me at least.

They are definitely questionable - a bit too accurate - if you know what you are looking at, I suppose you know. But being from China they are outside of any US court, so...

But like my bud said (and he and I are of the honest ilk) - you can't re-sell it. Well you could, but in reality, you'd have to disclose and then you'd get into trouble.

The sad thing is that American companies gave them the means to do it by allowing business to go there for cheaper labor. Think about companies w/the lower tier models made in China - I kind of figure that they are over there taking what they already have and making money two ways. Not very up and up on their part, but we gave them the designs, the production setup money. It's a shame. (and a sham - I know.)

My only concern is that if it's ever resold and the buyer not knowing what it is and gets ripped off.
I could careless about the company most of what they sell gibson,fedora,spector,fender warwick and many others that come to mind is WAY over priced anyways 8k for a bass 3k for a guitar? I think not

The thing that made me first question it.. it was white, as far as I knew they didn't make a white frampton.. that was the only thing that made me stop, look closer and question it.

First, I don't have a fake Rolex. Do you know any Chinese sites where I can buy one? Actually, I don't wear watches, so no need to freak out on me about that.

Second, I may buy one of these down the road for curiosity's sake, but not because I want to shaft Rickenbacker or Fender (okay, maybe Fender) on their sales; I have no intention of ever, ever paying the amount of money that Rick or Fender or EBMM asks for their instruments, so if I buy a cheap Chinese knockoff, it's not like the American companies lost a customer. If I really, truly want a particular brand or model of bass, I'll buy it. Otherwise, I'll go elsewhere. Global capitalism at its best(worst?)
