Famous Bands You Opened Up/Played For

Green Day opened for my band at a pizza parlor, among various other places. Then they got huge and we opened for them at big shows.

Blink 182 did a tour opening for one of my bands. Then they got big too. See a pattern here?

We did a tour opening for Bad Religion. We played festivals with Rancid. We opened for No Doubt just before they got huge. We played the first and second Warped tours, so played with whatever bands were on those. Actually, if you name any popular punk rock type band from the early-mid 90s, we probably played with them.

The bands I was in back then were called The Mr. T Experience and Samiam, if you're curious.

Hank Williams Jr.
Joe Bonamassa
Sonny Landreth
Ted Nugent
Foghat
Jefferson Starship
Kenny Wayne Sheppard
Andy Timmons
Little Big Town
Uncle Kracker
Gavin DeGraw
Chris Cagle
Point Blank
David Nail
Jeff Baxter

Mushroomhead
Taproot
Dio
REO Speedwagon

We were also supposed to open for Pro-Pain once, but the show was cancelled when their drummer broke his leg in a car accident on the way there..

Between 1995-1997 I was in a band called And Gabriel Fell. With them I opened for:
God Lives Underwater
The Urge
2 Skinnee Js
The Bogmen
Keith Caputo's Absolute Bloom.

Currently I play with Dave Pettigrew and Evan Toth.
With Dave Pettigrew I opened up for:
Lincoln Brewster (I got to hang out with Norm Stockton, which was the highlight of that gig)
MercyMe

With Evan Toth:
Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes (John Conte let me use his Tech 21 pedal. Super great guy!)

We opened for Tower of Power in 2008.

We were warned beforehand that we likely wouldn't get a sound check. When TOP soundchecked they jammed on the same rhythm for at least half an hour, Dave Garibaldi just grooved it the whole time, then we got almost as long to check as they did. A couple of the guys from TOP (including Dave Garibaldi) hung around for our sound check and even applauded.

Very nice experience. I hoped to get a few words with Rocco but got the feeling he wouldn't appreciate it so left him alone!

I've heard of both those bands. Nice!

Fates Warning - opened for them in 1992

The Donnas - was on the same bill, but it was before they even had an album out.

Played on the same bill as NOFX but we were long gone by the time they played... daytime festival.

Gene Loves Jezebel - 1999 Monterey Rock and Art Festival

We once played a music store in Oregon after Blue Oyster Cult... but it was the day after. HA!

"Love is Dead" is one of my favorite pop-punk albums! Once upon a time I owned "Everyone's Entitled to their own Opinion", but I sold off all my old records (I was tired of lugging around crates of LPs every time I moved). Glad to see ya on TB.
