Fan?

The fan went on my ampeg. I ordered a new one, wired it up and it still don't work. When I first turned it on it looked like it wanted to turn but no go. Any sugestions, My other amp has been at the repair shop for 6 weeks and I'd like not to bring this one.

What model? There are several fan types used, depending on what model

Some are DC powered, Some AC. Some 12V, some 24V, some 120V......


You gotta give some information.

You better test the fan. Figure out what voltage it actually is, whether it's DC or AC, and get a power supply of some sort to figure it out. They may have sent you the wrong-voltage fan, but I doubt it.

If the fan works, then your board has issues.

Did you actually confirm that each of the fans two wires were indeed receiving power or ground? If not, you may have some other wiring, relay (etcetera) issue and your origanal fan motor may not actually be defective.

Just checked the old fan, it works. Looks like the board has issues. My amp is a B2. Thanks for the help, another repair for my tech.

The B2 fan is 24V DC, and runs from a circuit that changes the speed with temperature.

it's a simple circuit, but can obviously go bad.

2PRO uses a 120V AC fan.
