Fantasy Time- Design Your Signature bass!

Mine would look just like this - but since I own it already, I guess I don't need a signature line !

:D

I'd want a fender aerodyne jazzish, minus the white binding, with mother of pearl inlays as the eye of the pyramid,
eye_of_the_one_dollar_pyramid.jpg

and centered in the middle of the bass, a big white eye of the pyramid. active pickups, emg p-z pickups and instead of a jazz pickup, a active humbucker pickup.

Luckily for me, I got someone to Photoshop exactly what I would get.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

So a five string Jazz bass, ash body, two precision pick ups, maple fretboard, and a finish Fender did in the 80s called Stratoburst. I'm also open to a natural finish, yellow, and sonic blue. Believe me, if Fender offered to make me a custom model, it would come in all the colors they SHOULD be using.

It would be a six string..
35" scale...
24 frets...
Curly walnut top, core and back with maple veneers in between..
Ebony fretboard..
Matching pickup covers...
Neck through made of walnut and wenge layers...
Hand-made active preamp w/ 4band eq, vol and blend...
Dual hand would split coils...
Hipshot A bridge and Hipshot ultralights...
Finished in poly...

oh...

wait....

I am close to having my dream bass getting built. A few weeks from now, and I am putting a deposit down for a Jerzy Drozd custom 6 string.
It is based off of this picture of the Prodigy LE VI It is an earlier 36 fret body shape, with the top horn coming off the body a little lower. At the 21st fret instead of at the 19th where the horn comes off the body on his current 36 fret body shape.
It is going to be an Excellency VI 36 fret neckthru. Woods are going to be pretty much the same. It will have a Black Poplar burl top, with a maple body.
5 pc Wenge /maple neckthru with ebony fingerboard (without the inlays.) Nekkid. Also it will be without the Piezo saddles( I am having a pot installed and wired dead for future piezo saddle install) and no LED side dots, Gold hardware. Cost will be roughly CDN$6500. after shipping and duty. I have been planning with Jerzy for a few weeks, and we've pretty much hammered out all the specs. Just waiting for next payday and away with the deposit. (About 1600.eur) The hardest thing about this, is going to be the year it takes to be finished. Anyways this photo will give you an idea.

Mine would basically be a Fender jazz bass. Completely shielded chambered ash body and the neck would be vintage jazz construction and profile. Additionally, the neck would have stainless steel inserts in the heel to help eliminate dead spots and a graphite reinforced trussrod. Tele headstock, Dark Stars, chrome stacked knobs, chrome Hipshot tuners and bridges, series/parallel switch, side mounted jack, allen wrench holder on the back of the headstock, recessed Dunlop Straploks, no pickguard, water buffalo horn nut, and bound and blocked neck. Would come in both fretted and fretless models with either Brazilian rosewood or maple fretboards. Color options would be sherwood green, lake placid blue, burgundy mist, charcoal metallic, firemist gold, candy orange, and natural finishes in nitro with matching headstocks on the rosewood board models. Extras would include a hardshell case, deluxe gigbag, Mono 4" wide strap, extra allen wrenches, polish cloth, a waterslide decal of the evil monkey from Family Guy, and a coupon for a free meal at iHop good only on Saturday and Sunday mornings between 12AM and 5AM.

@Captain Simian- you put a little too much thought into that! strap options? :P

mine would be

GL_asat_bass_002.jpg

this :)

no idea what id change to make it sig..

also after spending the entirity of last morning on warmoth i was fantasising about what id have...something unusual but not too "off the wall" probably an

thunderbird body
p bass pickup beside the neck (like the pickup placement on an SG)
J bass pickup, or maybe another P, in the "sweet spot"
sweet red burst finish :), or black stain
oh, and flats

Mine would be an oly white jazz with two darkstar pickups and a tort pickgaurd. Both pickups a little more towards the neck for more thump and a switch to select different caps (.022/.047/.1) and a bypass switch to go straight to the jack.

A Peavey Patriot. An '80's mahagony boat anchor.( remember Mike Dirnt's original ?)
I would add active electronics and make it a P/J configuration AND keep the original Super Ferrite.
White with a red or maybe shiny brass pickguard. Might even use flatwounds on it.

Matt

It's the one in the middle.
