A bass version of that with the body flattened out abit.

basically my Carvin LB76 as is, but stock from the factory, set up as follows:
stock fretless ebony board with no lines
mahogany body and neck with flamed maple top
1 single J pickup at the bridge wired to a single volume
no active electronics or middle pickup.
i love this bass, just wish the mods were factory done.

A custom Fender Jaguar with better grounded electronics, custom color, pickguard, with fralin pickups. Oh and don't forget a high mass bridge.[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
The Mike Dirnt signature Precision is actually pretty close. I'd just give it a string-thru bridge, recolor it silver with black pickguard, and make the neck more similar to the Squier '50s CV Precision but keeping the rosewood.
Call it a "Fender-backer".... Something that looks mostly like a Rickenbacker 4001, feels like a Fender Precision, and is capable of sounds ranging from Rickenbacker to Fender P and J basses. All in beautiful natural maple with stereo output!

I'd like to have a double-neck bass. Top neck will be a Piccolo bass / Bottom neck will be Sub Contra.

An alembic j-shaped bass, with a 3-layer mahogany/white limba/black limba body core, cocobolo back and sides, a 3-piece wenge and purple heart neck, ebony fretboard/26 medium-jumbo frets. Nordstrand Big Splits in Thumb bass positions.

Have you run anything by the guys at Heritage guitar, in Kalamazoo, MI (the original Gibson factory)? They seem to be interested in a few off-the-wall designs here and there.
The worst thing they can say is "no"...

Mate Black Fender Jaguar Deluxe, with Maple, Black Block inlayed P neck.. Audere pre adapted to the stock control layout.. nice P/J pickups (still undecided).. full crome or black pickguard.. output jack on the side..
Guess the custom shop could build it.. I just dont play well enough to justify it... but i will get there!

I saw the heading and was just about to post before seeing this, it's basically exactly what I would take but with a tort guard and maybe a rosewood neck... Maple would nice though too.
This is my signature funk bass. It's been in the making for a few months and I received her today.
Alder wood, Delano pickups, passive, vvt. Used to be an old sexy SX bass that was my first bass and I loved the feel of it, to me no fender could compare to how she felt. So I got my Luther to b give her some omft! Best decision ever.
