Farting cab

Hi brothers,
Just loaded my 2x10 with a set of 300W Eminence gammas.
Re-wired so that each driver is now individually powered by one of the two seperate speakon inputs (the plan is that I can power both drivers from a two output Superfly amp)

The problem is farting at high power.

Guys, what causes this? and would extra venting help?

Generally caused by beans and extra venting would surely help...

If the cones aren't moving in unison due to seperate inputs and the cab isn't partitioned I'd think air movement in the cab would be disruptive between the speakers.

Okay, hijacking this thread. Had a terrible gig last night. I am so pissed. First gig with new power/pre setup with my Carvin 10.2 neo. Well, no matter what, the speakers were farting out hell. First I had the preamp low and turned up the power amp to 12 o' clock, farting like crazy, then on advise form the sound guy Icranked the preamp master to 3 ' o clock and turned the poweramp volume to 9 o' clock, still farting, and barely able to hear myself. What causes farting? My amp is 500w at 4ohm, my speaker is 600w at 4ohm, so i shouldnt be overpowering it. I dont recall all this farting when I was using my Kustom at 750w 4ohm. At low volume it sounds fine, as soon as I need to be heard "braaaaaap". New cab time?

Could it be a tear in the speaker? It happens sometimes, even when you think it shouldn't...

That's very possible. It once happened to a friend. The cone had "unglued" on it's largest diameter from the speaker's frame.
