FAS P-Bass Black w/ Maple FB - $800

One of Hello Music's daily deals is the Fender American Standard P-Bass in black with Maple Fretboard for $800. (Probably NOS, may want to find out if they can provide a year for it, but it does advertise the 2008 improvements)

HELLO MUSIC

You need to sign up with them to get access to the deal, and they seem to take forever with shipping.

Tempting. I'm still waiting on a guitar from them. Define... 'forever'?

They haven't shipped my order from last week as of yet (but they've certainly had my money.. :P ). So, I'd be tempted to define 'forever' anything beyond the instant gratification I crave. ROFL

I'd be extremely tempted on this if I didn't buy an FAS P a few weeks ago. $400 cheaper than what I'm paying (since I did it through AMS's 12 month deal).

Yup, it is tempting, very tempting for a P, but I do have one already. Do I need another? Not really, even for flipable / tradeable profit? Nah. Gotta pass.

And 'forever' it seems the same with me, just last week got the 60's Tribute LP. Charged on Sat.

While this is still availible, I don't know if I'm going to bother ordering from Hello Music at all in the future.

I sent them a nastygram today about their lack of feedback on order status and purchases. Maybe I'm spoiled by Amazon, Zzounds, and such, but I prefer to be able to log into my account, see past orders and current orders, and my order status, whether it's pending, being picked, sitting on its *** picking its nose, whatever. With Hello Music, the 'dashboard' is crap, and doesn't tell you anything or have anything to acknowledge the fact that you even placed an order.

We're not living in the 1950's where you snail mail in a catalog order and 6 months to a year later, Sears sends you your product.

At least for the item I purchased (the GK BL600 head), the 'savings' they provide could have easily been met with one of MF or some other site's sales or coupons or whatever, and I likely would have had my purchase by now, or at least have knowledge of what was going on with it.

And while I joke about instant gratification above, if there's an understanding that the ship date is xx/xx/xxxx, that's fine. I don't like being in the dark on my purchases, especially when I have to plan around it. (Such as likely having to borrow a head for this weekend. Bleh. Thank the Lord my friends trust me with their gear and know that I'll return it in the same shape I borrrowed it and am willing to do the same for them.)

I got an email today saying that they'll get around to shipping my order 'sometime' next week. For the 'savings' and mystery, its not worth it... Order cancelled. With the GC & MF coupons/sales (and the fact that you can get around the 'excluded manufacturers' list by calling them directly or going into the store), I'm only paying $10 more for the same head and I'll actually end up getting it sooner than I would have through HM.
