Fassa's not the only one with a new amp...

Congrats on a great amp! It looks to be in great condition. For many years I had a D180 as a "backup" for my Bass 400, and I wished I had never sold it, they sound massive and are much louder than their wattage leads you to believe.

I would build or buy somekind of cabinet or rack for it. For the simple reason like my gear rides in the back of the truck or trailer, and at gigs I set my beer on it, 'nuff said.

Here's a pic of what Mesa's head cabinets looked like back in the day. I had built a replica of one once back in the 90's, and it is very easy.

I'll probably build something, in a few weeks when I've got some spare time. I think there's still plywood in the basement, so I might use that. Probably buy some tolex, too, or just paint it. What did you use when you built yours?

I bought one new in 1982 and still have it. I made my own oak cabinet but left all of the ventilation areas open and clear. Always run the fan full speed too for best tube life. You can also push pull the knobs for even more tones and two channel distortion for some lemmy stuff lol.

Man- congrats on the amp!!! Can't beat all tube IMO. I own an SVTII & HAD a rack case for it..... added 20lbs to it tho & as I ALWAYS pack my own gear, I got rid of the rack case(maybe if I could find a "neo" one.... ;-) -I'm always careful where I pack it, & I'm gonna get a mate to make me a slip on canvas/type stuff cover for it, but for me- the rack case was overkill.

I actually just started building a case for it, as it turned out that we have a ton of leftover wood in the basement and garage. It'll add some weight, but also it'll be safer for the amp. And look cool.

I've been really enjoying lately. It sounds great turned all the way up, but there's no reason for me to be that loud, so I normally keep it a bit lower in volume.
