Fat Strap for my Jazz

Not sure if this is the right forum but......

I do a lot of gigging with various different bands and I suffer from a painful shoulder after gigs normally.

I'm looking for a strap that is comfortable, padded and wide.

Unfortunately, none of the music shops locally (Mid's, UK) sell anything thats suitable. So i'm confined to the internet really and I don't want to buy a rubish one.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

you could get a comfort strapp (tm)

its 4 inches wide and its neoprene

i have one i but i cant get used to the bouncing of it

but it does make the bass seem lighter

I have a comfort strap but got rid of it... I found the top neoprene pad to heavy and if I ever moved my bass and took the weight off the strap the neoprene pad would flop down my back... nasty. It's fine if you just stand still and don't rock out but if you do any bass lifting (steve harris style) it's not the best buy..

i have a planet waves one that i like right now

i like a somewhat wide strap but anything too wide has always cut into my neck go figure

i use a strap from www.italiastraps.com

i got two 4inch leather straps for £20 when they had some crazy deal on, doubt they've still got it on but nice straps none the less

I use the Neotech strap: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
and I love it. It's more stable (and better looking) than the Comfort Strapp, and it is more comfortable to me than a wide padded leather strap.

I've been using the comfort strapp for about 3 years now without problems... i do wear the bass pretty high though, and don't 'rock out' too much. Ha.

+1 for the neotech, they are in the UK just look on ebay thats where i got mine.

it really sits nice on the shoulder and being neoprene stretches a little as you move so the strap wont pull you down as the bass moves, saving the shoulder ALOT of stress.

i also use a soft leather/suede strap too depending on what im doing/whats at hand and that is a little less forgiving but still comfy (its a cheap 'guvnor' leather strap but its nice and comfy)

That might save you some money vs ordering from the US

I am definetly a fan of these straps. They are better than the Sadowsky neo Strap.

Go for moody straps I say. They are terrific, and it distributes the weight perfectly! Quality all the way!

I have three of the 4" wide Italia straps that I bought off Ebay. I really like them and they do a great job distributing the weight across your shoulder. If you take your time and pick the right auction, you can usually get one for the minimum bid of $23.99.

I have both a Moody and a Comfort Strap and although the comfort strap is nice, it does not even come remotely close to how comfortable the wide Moody strap is!

The Moody is just so comfortable and probably the best looking due to its simplicity.

After trying four straps . . . I purchased an Onori-L9P . . . wide, distressed leather, sheepskin padding, etc. The straplocks were tough to install, but they are on!

The search was over!!! Got mine from Music 123 - $50 . . .

+1 I have the 5 inch strap doesnt get any better than that. Moody straps are excellent. For some reason the comfort straps realy kill my sholder
