Barcelona definitely on my list as far as Spain goes, I do think it could change my mind about the place.morf said:

Morf, if you like great beaches, you should go to Australia. I too enjoy going to the beach as often as possible, and I've been to beaches in Mexico and Australia, and all of them were great, but the Australian ones were better, IMO. And then you can go and get fish and chips right after swimming/surfing/whatever.

I haven't been to to many countries, island of Bali in indonesia was pretty sweet, but just want to travel there not live or anything. hong kong i'd like to have a job there and live there. I feel i'd love Australia if i had a chance to go. But if for some reason i could only visit 1 more country in my life i want to go to egypt to see all the history they have there
Interesting thread. I've been following all 3-4 pages of it and can't tell you which ones are my favorites. I live in Switzerland, but it's not my home country. It'e a great place to live and I'm not in any hurry to leave. Safe. Stunning geography. Middle of western Europe. No plitical turmoil.
Outside of here, I have a hard time to nail down favorites. I've been to 41 countries and many of them have things I just love about them. Lots more countries to see and I hope I will be fortunate to see many more of them.

Salzburg Austria is very gorgeous. The thing I like about Europe is they have so much more history than my beloved Canada. I love castles and other centuries old buildings.
If you find a 200 year old building in Canada - that's considered " really old." !
In Europe, a home is hardly broken in by that age!

IMO, South Africa is the most beautiful country in the world. The people there are really nice. Cape Town is unbelievable.
However, the social problems there are really bad. It's going to take a lot of work to dig out of that hole.
