Favorite american muscle car

+1. 4" bore, 3" stroke and good heads is just a magical, rev to the moon, combination. Back in the mid 80's I worked with a guy that had bought one new in 1968 and was still using it as his daily driver. It had been stolen in 1971 and when recovered the 302 was gone and insurance replaced it with the 350 used in the then-current Z/28. It still was a neat car but IMHO not the same.
A friend of mine had a '69 Z/28 that he sold to get money together to buy his first house. That was back around 1981 or so. He knows where the car is now but it's gone up so much in value over the last 25 years that he couldn't afford to buy it back now. Anyone notice there seems to be more 69 Z/28's now than what Chevrolet made back in 1969?
I do not know about the show...but my 1993 Audi CS 90 4 door 6Cyl manual out ran a 2006 camero and a 200? mustang with ease.
I do think Audi/BMW wax most American cars in looks(not mine
) speed, agility, and ride quality....as well as longevity.
You'd seriously paint a white stripe on a 5.5 million dollar car? (yes, that pictured car sold for that)
IMO, stripes distract from the beauty of that car. It's all curves, ****in sexy curves.

What Carrera? Isn't that a Lotus?
I've gone through several muscle cars, and nothing will ever get my motor going like a Camaro.
As I've gotten older, though, I'm starting to look for something a little less... um... well, what I mean to say is... something a lil more refined.
And, FWIW, my pick would be the C5 Z06 Corvette... or the C6-R.

Most of them came out of the factory with stripes

I'd have to go with the '69 Roadrunner for a favorite though.

My kid brother recently acquired a '66 Nova fixer-upper. Ran the track for the first time just last week (test runs only). 12.2 at 110mph. Nothing great I know, but that was the first time he's really felt that babe up. Should be something when he gets to know her.

Touche. I didn't know that. I didn't mean specifically a 72 anyway. Just that era of Chevelle SS... With the 327.
Oh yeah. They made a few Corvairs, too, the "Stinger" if memory serves. Nickey (with backwards "k") made some very quick Chevy-powered cars as well.
Anyone remember the Dekon Monza? I saw them run at Mid-Ohio--fast enough to get the pole, and sounded fantastic, but couldn't stay together for more than a few laps. Pity.
