Primus' Sailing the Seas of Cheese it what got me interested in playing bass... That and RHCP's Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

Funny thing about STSOC... I only bought it because it was a CD on the recommendation board at Tower Records. I had no idea who Primus was, what they sounded like, or anything. Bought it on a total whim, and loved it!

And as for serious heavy-duty bass albums, THIS ONE by Jamaaladeen Tacuma has it all.
Shame it's been deleted, but it's the most awesome, funky and out-of-order album this side of Tacuma's collaboration with the late-great Derek Bailey (but a good deal more accessible!)
