I don't see this guy mentioned at all: Anthony Muthurajah is an insane player who does IMO very nice, honest videos on applying theory.

Haven't tried his lessons or pdf books, but would be curious if anyone did.

Some YouTubers could benefit from toning down the "bass face" a bit as it can be a bit distracting. It's anathema to my totally expressionless and emotionless playing style. Also, fewer knees please, I'm British - knees should only be visible on the beach, playing sports or during a BBQ. On stage or similar only if it's a musical about a tennis player going to a beach BBQ.

I've got a little YouTube channel that I started as a personal challenge. The premise of it is I pick up my bass and play the very first thing that comes out of me, every day, no matter where I am; work, out hunting, but most of the time at home in my living room. Usually through a Boss Dual Cube desktop amp, completely clean and flat EQ and always on basses I've built. I will often post more throughout the day but the point is to always post that first one. I think of it as an exercise in creativity and vulnerability.

I just pick up the bass, lean my phone against my coffee cup or the amp, hit the red button and go... then post it. I don't even let myself listen to it first. I call it My Morning Improv and most of you probably won't like it at all but maybe a couple of you might. I play kinda weird and it's not for everyone.

Cant say Im overly impressd by anyone on YT really, way too much clever stuff.. I mean its just bass right?. The old adage, 'theres no money above the fifth' still rings true. Be really nice to see someone just play a straight tight groove using open strings and keeping it all down the money end.
