In case anybody is interested...

Le Fay: Bad Link Removed

Le Fay is a one-man-company (Reiner Dobbratz) and is one of the most innovative and respected bass companies in Germany. He also offers hand-made standard replacement pickups which are used by several bass companies in Germany. He only sells direct on a custom order basis.
The website is in German, but I can translate it for you if you're interested in finding out more about these extraordinary basses...

I have agree with you 100% coyoteboy. Its nice to somebody on this board that actaully knows what a REAL curbow is.
Thats a damn fine looking(and sounding) bass. So many basses are so damn ugly these days. Can anybody say Fodera?
Those things are the ugliest things ever. I dont care if victor wooten plays them.
I bought a petite carved top 5 string about a year ago.
Im curious where you played one considering Greg doesnt sell to stores anymore. Used? If you order one be prepared to wait about 5 or 6 months. Heh, Greg told me 8 weeks when I first ordered but it, got extended greatly. I would have say it was worth it though. Dont tell him you heard that from me though! :-)
It took me awhile to figure out that the highs need to be completely rolled off on the bass. Thats one damn bright bass. I have the full on rock wood neck and a birds-eye maple top. I will be playing these for the rest of my life.
