favorite body?

Cool man. Personally I like to get lower than higher but the way you have your basses set up is pretty neat. I feel like a dork now, only playin a 5 string! But thats cool too. I keep mine tuned down ADGCF. What kinda music do you play with the high strings?

my band is sorta progressive, not quite so heavy metal as dream theater, more like old yes/old rush/old maiden. lotsa long songs, odd times, harmony vocals. along with yes, rush, and maiden, people have said we sound like queensryche, and sometimes dream theater and even u2 sometimes - get that "moperock" thing happening. and sometimes, we are really heavy - there are sections where both guitarists are playing heavily distorted guitar and guitarsynth simultaneously and i am playing clean, distorted and synth bass stacked, and footpedal synthesizer.

some of the stuff we do is the heaviest stuff i've ever heard, though we don't do it too much. if you're heavy all the time, tends to loose it's impact, and besides we tend to not like that heavy stuff too much. mostly into harmony guitars and three part harmony stuff. both guitarists play 6 and 12 string guitars, guitarsynth, the one guy plays steel guitar, the other also plays keyboards, i play bass and bass synth and footpedal synth, the 3 of us all sing, the 2 guitarists do most of the lead vocals and i do all the "stunt" vocals, like vocoder and harmonized/electronic voices. and the drummer plays a big a$$ kit. including a nice big gong. :D

in fact, that pretty much sums us up - "the drummer plays a big a$$ kit. including a nice big gong." :D

thanks for asking. hopefully sometime this month you will actually be able to download some of our song clips - i am going to try and get some more recent mixdowns up on our site soon.

hopefully soon - i have to mix everything down, i am going to try and get some decent mixdowns together in the next few weeks, and get them on the site.

thanks for asking. :)

actually, we have a mediocre mix down on the site right now, it's a little too bass-heavy, and many of the parts have been redone, but here it is...

Man, JT, I would love to hear some of y'alls stuff! Just gotta get some working speakers on this stupid computer. Last question. What kind of amps, combo's, cabs etc. do you use that can cleanly handle a low F#? Thats really low! laterz.....

Fender P and J bass styles are my favorites. To me, the P style screams "classic" while the jazz style equals "modern" for some odd reason. I don't go for all of the odd shapes (explorers, violin basses, Jackson Kelly, etc.). The runner up would be the Yamaha RBX style body.

i use 4x12" hartke aluminium cone guitar cabs, and yamaha pa subs (1x18" speakers). i use a few different preamps, that i switch between, and sometimes use in series - aguilar db680, marshall jmp-1 guitar preamp, ada mp1 guitar preamp.

the pa subs do a good job with the low F#.

Will I be able to order the cd without a credit card or will I have to get my mom & dad to loan me theirs?

cool, thanks. and probably by the time we are done with it, (we are doing 2 cds, ~70 minutes each) you will probably have a credit card of your own :( ;).

hey, don't look at me, she volunteers. :D she's pretty tough, too, and strong.

you guys are going to pump up her ego so much she's going to become impossible to live with. :D just kidding, actually you guys can't compare to the "spoiling rotten" that i have been performing the past coupla years. but in my defence, i say "look at her" and i'm sure you would spoil her too. :D

you know, i can't think of a "professional" body that i like as much as my hers. to top it off, her name is barbie. :D

back to basses, nobody has helped me yet, 7 or 4? which one? based on the pics of course. :D
