I saw Roger Waters a few years back and Dave Kilminster played the middle and end solos better than Gilmour if you can believe it. It was insane. Best solo I have seen in 30 years of seeing almost every top band. I am a huge Gilmour fan but this was epic. Funny, Kilminster loathes playing that solo too.

Knopfler's solo at the end of Brothers In Arms is just incredible!
Roland Orzabal's guitar in Secrets - of course, that whole song is very emotionally raw so by the time he gets to the solo, my heart is already twisted to pieces.

I like nearly everything David Gilmour has played. Robin Trower is also a favorite. One song I really like is on Blue Oyster Cult's live album, "On Your Feet or On Your Knees" and the song is "Then Came the Last Days of May." Buck Dharma's playing seems very emotional to me. It helps a bit to remember seeing him play it on that tour and a few subsequent ones.
