I imagine that movie would have been a lot more interesting if Mick Jagger had been able to keep his role.

Kurosawa's "Dreams" may be my favorite, although it's not one I could watch at any given moment.

Il Postino. I'm thinking of writing a screenplay for a sequel called Il Postino Disgruntilato.

I always thought that that Massimo Troisi, who played the postman, had an amazing committment to the realism of poverty in how gaunt he looked in the film which was set in post-World War II Italy. Then I found out that he was dying of cancer while making the film.

I loved the movie, but the book is better: El Cartero de Neruda by the Chilean Antonio Skármenta. I'm not sure if it is available in English. The ending of the novel, however, is substantially dark.

Exactly. Great movie! The only thing I disliked was that the version I saw was dubbed in Spain. Nothing worse than hearing a whole bunch of black brazilian guys talking "españolete" (pure Spanish accent).
